Graham Patrick Spellman was born in Farnham Common,
near Slough in 1947 and, after attending Slough Grammar School he gained a
B.Soc.Sc.(Honours) specialising in Economics, Politics & Sociology from
the University of Birmingham in 1968.
That year he joined EMI Electronics as a contracts officer handling
military contracts. He undertook his professional qualification and was
elected a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in
June 1971.
In 1970 he joined Spillers Foods as assistant to the Chief Production
Accountant and swiftly moved on to become the Company Accountant for three
companies in the Meat Division. In 1974 he took on the role of Group
Accountant to the whole Meat Division which role he retained until 1980.
During his time with Spillers, the total turnover for which he was
responsible rose to in excess of £40M.
In 1981 he left to start his own commercial management accountancy
practice where he has become an integral part of many of his clients’
operations. In 1986 he extended his interests to an accounting
software/hardware sale and support operation, although he now only takes a
“back seat” interest in this business.
The reason for this was that he concentrated his wide range of accounting,
management, taxation and planning skills into the Accounting Centre which
he founded in 1993 and which was superceded in 2002 by the Accounting &
Taxation Centre Ltd.
During his career Graham has developed and honed his skills, not only in
the expected areas of accounting, audit, taxation and company secretarial
duties, but has also provided his wide range of clients (approximately
150) with support in the areas of business strategy, financial planning,
project preparation and management, process analysis, negotiation and
management reviews. He also has expertise in the area of staff management
and reviews.
Together with Krzysz Zablocki, he believes that the Accounting & Taxation
Centre Ltd is well placed to meet the demands of his target client market. |
